5 Inspiring Tips & Ideas to Market Your Brand

Marketing your brand today is not the same as it was 10 years ago. So much has changed across industry lines that the methods of yesterday are quickly becoming obsolete. Today, things move fast in the world of marketing. As a business owner you have to constantly be on your toes if you want to make an impact in this market. In case you’re feeling burnt out or your marketing feels lack-luster, here are 5 inspiring tips and ideas to market your brand in 2018!

Tip 1: Focus on Your Customers

This tip should go without saying, but in this day and age customer interactions are being pushed to the side. Yes, things like SEO, social media shares, and great web design are important. Customer service and the customer experience should always come first. Marketing is about more than just mastering the latest algorithm change! Look at some of the most well-known businesses of today like Amazon. Though this company continues to grow, it still keeps the focus on great service and delivering what the customer wants.

Tip 2: Know Your Audience

How well do you actually know your audience? If you don’t know who you’re talking to, odds are you’re talking to no one with your marketing. Your first step in creating a winning marketing strategy is to know your audience inside an out. Here are some questions to ask about your audience to get you started:

  • What is the age range of your audience?
  • Where does your audience spend the most time online?
  • What type of message connects most with your audience?

Tip 3: Personalization

Marketing isn’t some one-size-fits-all solution. A lot of the top marketing agencies understand this, but not all of them do. Always be on the lookout for marketing “gurus” and “experts” who claim to have the magic solution to your marketing problem. The reality is there is no cookie-cutter answer, and you might need a personalized approach.

To perfect your personalization, focus on your best audience of customers. Create a message that really hones in on them specifically. What works best for them? How can you convince them to buy from you not just now, but again in the future?

Tip 4: Create a Strong Brand

Branding isn’t just for the biggest businesses. Even small businesses can benefit from great branding. Start with your messaging, and really create a perspective that aligns with your audience. How can you share your story and your message through your tone, your logo, and your colors? This might mean different things to different businesses. It might mean having a visually-aesthetic blog or having customized tablecloths for a tradeshow booth. No matter how you approach branding, make sure you take it seriously!

Tip 5: Build a Community

Businesses of today are built on communities of people. Great businesses bring people together. That means the focus isn’t on selling or on converting customers, but rather on creating a foundation of trust. Create a community and find a problem you can solve within this community. As you establish trust, you can position your brand as the solution to this problem!
